A book by Daniel Mersey, author of 'Song of Arthur and Merlin', 'Arthur King of the Britons', and 'Legendary Warriors'.Glutter of Ravens is a book in two parts. Part I contains a set of wargames rules specially designed to recreate and play battles in post-Roman Britain (AD400-700). These rules allow players to take the part of historically attested leaders, who can field an army representing the warriors of their kingdom, and fight using their tactics and strategies. The rules are fairly simple to learn, and there are no hard and fast restrictions governing the size or length of your game.
Part II (the majority of the book) will be of interest to anybody who cares for the historical King Arthur and the military history of his time. This part of the book describes the warriors of the period, the way in which battles were fought, and the equipment used by fighting man of Arthurian Britain. Five colour plates are included to add detail and flavour to the written descriptions.
The book is available through Outpost Wargame Services and their distributors.
